Configuration of NIC and FC HBA
It is necessary that NIC and FC HBA configurations are matched between the
source and destination server blades.
Requirement for NIC configuration
– A NIC card with the same number of ports is installed on every slot with
the same PCI Device number on the source and destination server
blades. (PCI Device numbers can be confirmed in PCI Device
Information screen either on HVM Console window or in HVM screen.)
– The scheduling mode for every controller on the NIC cards mounted on
the same slot location is set to the same mode on the source and
destination server blades.
Requirement for FC HBA configuration
– "Device Name" of every FC HBA Card is matched between the source
and destination server blades. ("Device Name"s can be confirmed on
Migration Config Viewer window.)
– Kind of FC HBA cards such as Mezzanine card or expansion card on the
source and destination server blades are matched.
– The number of ports with which FC HBA cards on the source and
destination server blades are accompanied is matched.
– The relative slot numbers where FC HBA cards are located are matched
between the source and destination server blades.
Application software for HVM management
It is necessary that you use any of the versions shown in the following table.

"Usage Notes" when you use ServerConductor/Blade Server Manager 08-xx, 09-53 or earlier.

You can execute LPAR migration in Shutdown mode regardless of version of
BMC.
