Carriage Unit Removal

1.
Remove the printer mechanism. (See page 3-9.)

Remove the timing belt spring to loosen belt tension. Then, remove the timing belt from the
CR motor pulley and the timing belt driven pulley on base frame. (See page 3-13.)

If the head cleaner lock lever gets caught on the carriage unit, manually pull the carriage lock
forward to release the carriage unit. (See Figure 3-22.)
Remove the (CBS 3 × 6) screw securing the plate that holds the tube and head FFC to the base

frame. Then remove the tube along with the tube cover and head FFC from the base frame.
5.
Turn the PG adjust bushings in both directions to disengage them from left and right frames,
and then remove the carriage unit and the CR guide shaft.
6.
Remove the CR guide shaft from the carriage unit.
