Questions and answers
I can't access our boiler controls via our Trend iQ4E system. It won't let me gain access through ethernet connection with the IP address provided.
To troubleshoot access issues with the TREND iQ4E boiler controls via Ethernet connection, follow these steps:
1. Check Physical Connections: Ensure Ethernet cables are securely connected to the controller and network switch/router.
2. Verify IP Configuration: Make sure the controller has a valid IP address compatible with your network settings.
3. Ping the Controller: From a computer on the same network, try pinging the controller’s IP address to confirm it is reachable.
4. Check BACnet Over IP Settings: Confirm BACnet over IP is enabled on the controller since it is supported by default.
5. Review Controller Variant: Some variants may have different I/O capabilities; ensure the correct model is used for boiler control.
6. Inspect Current Loop Plan Option: If using Trend communications over current loop, verify that this is properly configured and not conflicting with Ethernet settings.
7. Examine Power Supply: Confirm the controller is powered correctly and the power connections are secure.
8. Use Trend Tools: If available, use Trend network tools/software to scan for and access the controller over the network.
If these steps do not resolve the issue, further investigation into network configuration or controller diagnostics may be needed.
