INSTALLING TIRE ON RIM
6. Insert the tire tool between the bead of the tire and wheel rim.
The beads of both sides of the tire opposite where you insert
the tire tool should be squeezed together and worked in to the
channel between the sides of the wheel. This makes it very easy
to lift one side of the casing off the wheel. Then lift the other
side off the wheel.
7.
When installing a tire on the wheel have the inner tube
in-
flated with just enough air to shape it. Place the tire and tube
on the ground and insert the wheel into the tire as shown in the
illustration. When the wheel is about half way into the tire it may
be more convenient to turn the wheel and tire over and work
the tire onto the wheel. Be careful not to pinch the inner tube
between the casing or rim with the tire tool.
8. Inflate to exactly the correct
pressure.
Tire mounting is made easier by coating the base of the tire
bead with tire soap, soft soap or soapy water. This allows the tube
to slide into the well of the rim and helps the tire bead to snap
into place against the rim flange.
