Free play or free movement of the clutch pedal is necessary to
allow the clutch disc to seat properly and to avoid slippage. It
insures proper clearance between the clutch release bearing and
the clutch release lever.
The proper amount of free play for the clutch pedal is 1 inch.
The adjustment is made by turning the clutch pedal adjusting collar
set screws.
