To connect the Magnetrol Thermatel TD1 in a P&ID drawing, follow these steps:

1. Symbol Representation: Use the appropriate symbol for a thermal dispersion flow/level/interface switch in the P&ID.
2. Wiring: The TD1 wiring includes:
- White (1)
- Black (2)
- Red (3)
- Green (4)
- Orange (5)
- Blue (6)
- Power connections: 24V DC (± 20%) or 100-264V AC.
- Relay connections: DPDT relay for output signaling.
3. Fail-Safe Configuration: Identify and configure the relay connections in the P&ID based on the fail-safe mode required.
4. Tagging: Label the device according to the P&ID conventions and ensure it is linked to the correct control system.

The Thermatel TD1 is not limited to the oil and gas industry. It can be used in various industries that require flow, level, or interface detection, including chemical processing, water treatment, food and beverage, and pharmaceuticals. However, installation in hazardous areas must follow safety guidelines.

FAULT INDICATION TD1/TD2 have continuous diagnostics to ensure that the signal from the sensor is within a select range. If the electronics detect an “out of range” signal, the switch has registered an instrument error. TD1: Alarm LED blinks and the relay de-energizes. TD2: 3,6 mA signal when unit is set for low level fail-safe.
