INSTALLING THE TINES (FIG. 3)
The tiller/cultivator comes with four tine. for the appropriate usage of the unit, the tines must be
installed in the correct order. The tiller/cultivator may be used with two or four tines.
1.
Disconnect from the power source. Allow sufficient time for the moving parts to come to a
complete stop.
2.
Lean the unit back on its wheels so that it is resting securely with the handlebar on the
ground.
3.
Place the tine stamped C on the tine shaft to the left of the gear box. The flute of the tine
should face away from the gear box.
4.
Place the tine stamped b on the tine shaft to the right of the gear box. The flute of the tine
should face away from the gear box.
5.
Place a felt washer on each side of the tine shaft, and slide them so that they rest against
the inner tines. Place the outer tine stamped D on the left side of the tine shaft. The flute
should face in, toward tine C.
6.
Place the outer tine stamped A on the right side of the tine shaft. The flute should face in,
toward tine b.
7.
insert both ring pins into the holes at both ends in order to secure the tines to the tine shaft.

NOTE: This view of the gearbox for tine installation is from
the front of the tiller/cultivator.

NOTE: When installed correctly, the angled edge of the
tine blades should face the ground. To secure the tines to
the tine shaft, insert the hitch pin into the holes located on
either side of the tine shaft.
!
NOTE: The unit will not operate properly if the tines are
installed incorrectly. If you notice a problem with the
tilling/cultivating operation of the unit, check for proper
tine positioning.
