5.11 Serial Data Interfaces

The serial channels consist of two UARTs and a USB port.

user's requirements and application. However, the common configuration options are

UART1 has full RS-232 functionality and is used for all on- and off –line
communication (modem sleep & wake functional control is an integral
component of this interface). Its intended use is that of the primary command
(AT) interface.
UART3 behaves as a general-purpose serial data link. It can be used for data
logging and de-bugging purposes. A GPS device can be used with UART3 as
part of an embedded application.
The USB port, available on the GR64002 variants, provides a convenient
general purpose peripheral (slave) port for use with host devices which have
USB controllers.
