Centroid Data Type
Mass/Charge Range
Thermo Scientific
The centroid data type displays the mass spectrum as a bar graph and sums the intensities of
each set of multiple sampling intervals. This sum is displayed versus the integral center of
mass of the sampling intervals. In general, for faster scan speed use the centroid scan data type
for data acquisition. Data processing is also much faster for centroid data.
The TSQ Quantum XLS and TSQ Quantum XLS Ultra mass spectrometers can operate in a
mass/charge range of 10 to 3000 Da, and 10 to 1500 Da, respectively.
