Bitmap register where bit 0 reflects telephone jack
control, bit 2 reflects RTS/CTS on/off, bits 3 and 4
reflect the &Dn setting, bit 5 reflects the &Cn setting,
bit 6 reflects DSR on/off, and bit 7 reflects
disconnecting long space.
