4. Testing the Scanner Operation

The following instructions show you how to test the scanner and experiment with
two software programs. You will use ScanGear Toolbox CS and ScanGear CS-U.
• The ScanGear CS-U driver software can also be called a TWAIN
driver. It cannot be started by itself. It has to be operated from an
application program such as PhotoStudio 2000 or ScanGear
Toolbox CS. For details, please read What is a TWAIN Driver? (p. 47)
Starting ScanGear Toolbox CS

1. Place your item on the document glass as illustrated.
Open the document cover, orient the image face down and align its
top edge with the alignment mark at the front of the scanner.
Close the document cover, being careful not to dislodge the item.

2. Press the start button at the front of the scanner.
The ScanGear Toolbox CS toolbar will display.
