Attaching door arm on the trolley

The straight door arm is already pre-assembled.
Recommended installation:
The trolley can be separated from the drive by pulling the red handle
and manually pushing towards the door. When the door is closed,
fix the curved door arm (1) on the door bracket with the bolt (2) and
secure with cotter pin (3). Connect straight and curved door arms
together flush with an overlap of 2 holes with screw (4) and secure
with nut (5). Choose the holes in such a way that the door arm stands
at an angle of about 30-40°.
NOTE:
The curved door arm can be omitted, if the door fitting has been
attached at the far upper edge of the door.
Mount the release handle of the emergency release at a
height of at least 1.80 m.
Attach the yellow label regarding the release of the garage
door opener (sticker) on the cord of the door handle.

External emergency release system

(optional)
Only required when there is no other access to the garage except
for the door.
• Due to the large number of doors on the market, the ideal mounting
type for your door can be very different from this drawing.
• For optimum performance of the release, the pulling direction of the
steel cable towards the adapter plate should be perpendicular to the
bottom as far as possible. See illustrations. The door arm (pulling
arm) should be changed in such a way that t is as steep as possible
in the closed position of the door.
• The opener must not push the door firmly against the door frame
during the closing process. Observe the rail to check it. If this is
raised up, the door has been pressed too firmly against the door
frame. This also increases the power requirement, which will later be
required to unlock. Reset the end position.
Assembly:
1. Insert the steel cable and the casing in the space provided on the
carriage and mount. (Fig. A)
2. Hold the non-mounted end of the steel cable casing against
the door leaf vertically above the door lock handle (Figure
B). The adapter plate is bolted to the door at the end of the
steel cable casing. The arc of the steel cable casing must
not have a sharp bend. Position the adapter plate however
as high as possible.
3. Bolt adapter plate together (Fig. C)
4. Thread cable and nut into the adapter plate and tighten the nut.
5. Cable ties as necessary to fit the steel cable housing and door
arm for protection.
6. Drill through door handle in an appropriate place (3 mm). Test
first in which direction the door handle moves as you unlock.
The cable has to tighten further with the release.
7. Thread the steel cable, lightly tighten and secure with the cable
clamp (Fig. E).
Note: Open the door by hand and watch the release of the car-
riage. A very tight steel cable can inadvertently trigger the
release and the door is unlocked. Critical position is usually halfway
between the OPEN and CLOSED.
Test the function of unlocking.
The function must be tested once a month.
Supplies for emergency release:
1. Cable tie
2. Steel cable with casing
3. Adapter plate
4. Cable clamp
5. Screw

Electrical connection

19
In order to avoid personal injury and damage to the device,
the door opener should be operated only if such an
instruction is explicitly stated in this manual. The power plug
must always be freely accessible for the purpose of
disconnecting the mains supply.
20
Install illuminated push button
or Multi-function door control
Locate door control where the garage door is visible, away from
door and door hardware and out of the reach of children. Mount
at least 1,5 m (5 feet) above the floor. Permanently fasten the caution
label permanently to the wall near the door control as a reminder of
safe operating procedures.
There are 2 terminals (1) on the back of the door control (2). Strip
about 6mm (1/4") of insulation from bell wire (4). Separate wires
enough to connect the white/red wire to RED terminal screw 1 and the
white wire to WHT terminal screw 2.
Fasten the door control to an inside garage wall with sheet metal
screws (3) provided. Drill 4mm (5/32") holes and use anchors (6) if
installing into drywall. A convenient place is beside the service door
and out of reach of children.
Run the bell wire up the wall and across the ceiling to the garage door
opener. Use insulated staples (5) to secure wire. The receiver quick
connect terminals are located behind the light lens of the opener.
Connect the bell wire to the terminals as follows: white/red to red (1)
and white to white (2).
Operation of the Door Control
Press to open or close the door. Press again to stop the door while
moving.
Multi-function Door Control: Press the white square to open or close
the door. Press again to stop the door while it is moving.
Light Feature: Press the Light button to turn the opener light on or off.
If you turn it on and then activate the opener, the light will remain on
for 2-1/2 minutes. Press again to turn it off sooner. The Light button
will not control the opener lights when the door is in motion.

Installation of photocells

21
(Optional accessory)
After installing and adjusting the door opener, photocells can be
installed. The installation instructions are included with the photocells.
The optional photocells ensure that the door is open, or remains
open, if people, especially young children, are in the door area.
By means of the photocells, a closing door is opened or an open
door is obstructed from closing, if a person located in the door area
interrupts the sensor beam.
Photocells are particularly recommended for families with young
children.
