Cold starting
– Set ignition switch 10 to "I"/"ON".
– Gently press fuel pump (14) often
enough that no more bubbles are visible
(approx. 5-6 times).
– Move the choke lever (4) to

Note:
With the choke closed (choke lever at
), pull the pull starter only until you
hear a first ignition sound. Otherwise,
you may run the risk of fuel leaking into
the combustion chamber, which would
prevent an ignition spark.
Warm start
– Set ignition switch to I/"ON".
– Check that the choke lever is at
– Gently pull the starter grip until you feel
resistance, and then forcefully pull the starter
outwards until the motor engages.
– Press start-up lock and gently activate the
throttle at the same time.
– If the motor does not engage after you pulled
the starter three times, repeat the starting
procedure as described under Motor cold start .
After starting the motor
– Leave the motor running at idling speed for a
while.
– Slowly press down on the throttle to increase
the motor speed.
The clutch will be released when the motor speed
is high enough, and the cutting equipment will
start to run.
– Check that the cutting equipment stops
running when you release the throttle.
Stopping the motor
– Release the throttle.
– Set ignition switch to "STOP".
The motor will switch off.
Cutting hedges
Risk of damage to the appliance!
Take particular care close to fences!
If trimmings, fence wire or similar is

switch the appliance off immediately.
– Press the locking button (5), and keep it
pressed.
– Twist the rear handle into the desired position,
and let it engage.
