6. Unwrapping and commissioning

Unpacking
Unpack the appliance and check for
completeness.
What is included
. Instructions for use
. Hedge trimmer
. Blade protection (18)
. Spark plug spanner (19)
. Fuel mixing canister (20)
Note:
should any part be missing or damaged,
please contact your dealer.
Filling with fuel
Danger of injury!
Fuel is explosive!
– Turn off and cool the motor down
Danger !
before filling the tank with fuel.
– You must observe all safety
instructions relating to handling fuel
– Before opening the tank, clean the tank cap
and the filler nozzle if necessary.
– Slowly turn the tank cap open and remove it.
– Slowly fill in the fuel mix. Avoid spilling!
– Check the seal inside the tank cap for damage
and clean it if necessary.
Replace a damaged seal immediately!
– Tighten the tank cap with gasket by hand.
– In case you spilled some fuel: make sure to wipe
off the fuel.

7. Operation

Check before use!
Attention, danger of injury!
Do not operate the appliance unless
you did not find any faults. If a part has

become defective, make sure to replace
it before you use the appliance again.
Check the safety devices and the safe condition
of the appliance:
– Check all parts for tightness.
– Check the appliance for leaks.
– Check the appliance for visual damage: broken
parts, cracks, etc.
Starting the engine
Danger of fire!
The appliance may catch fire due to any
fuel which may have been spilled.
Danger !
Carefully wipe off any spilled fuel before
starting the motor.
Start the appliance at least nine metres
away from the spot where you
filled it with fuel.
Danger of injury!
When starting the appliance, make sure
it rests firmly. Never start the
Danger !
motor when the appliance is still held
in your hand!
– Assume a firm standing position.
– Place the machine on the ground such that the
cutting equipment cannot come into contact
with anything.
– Push the appliance firmly onto the ground and
hold it with the knee to prevent slipping.
– Hold the appliance firmly as shown.
