Cleaning/replacing the air filter
Risk of damage to the appliance!
Never operate the appliance without
the air filter, otherwise damage
Attention !
to the motor may occur.
– Set choke lever (4) to
form entering the carburettor.
– Unscrew the bolts (7) and remove the air filter
cover (16).
– Remove the air filter (16).
– Wash the air filter in warm water (with a small
amount of detergent).
– Oil the air filter slightly with motor oil.
– Wipe the air filter cover on the inside; re-install
the air filter in reverse order.
Cleaning/replacing the spark plug
– Pull off the ignition cable plug (6).
– Unscrew the spark plug.
– Check the electrode for discoloration. Standard
colour: light brown
– Check the electrode separation. Correct
separation: 0,6–0,7 mm
to prevent any dirt

Cleaning the spark plug
– Remove soot deposits from the electrode with
a brass wire brush.
Risk of damage to the appliance!
When cleaning the spark plug, use only
wire brushes with brass bristles.
Attention !
Bristles made of another material
damage the electrodes!
Replacing the spark plug
– Insert the cleaned or new spark plug and screw
it in hand-tight.
– After screwing it in hand-tight, use the spark
plug spanner to tighten the spark plug (no
more than a quarter turn, as you may otherwise
damage the thread).
– Replace the ignition cable plug firmly back onto
the spark plug.
Danger of injury from high voltage!
Do not touch the spark plug connector
or the spark plug while the motor is

running.
Risk of damage to the appliance!
Screw in the spark plug only when the
motor is cold.

Make sure no unauthorised persons can
gain access to the appliance!
Danger !
– Slip the protection cover over the cutting
equipment.
– If possible, store the machine in the horizontal
position. Make sure no fuel can run out.
– Store the appliance where it is dry and well
ventilated.
Placing the appliance out of service for an
extended period of time (4 weeks or longer)
For an extended period of disuse, you must
remove the fuel from the appliance.
