Removal and replacement procedures

CAUTION:

Component replacement procedures

There are as many as 44 screws that must be removed, replaced, and/or loosened when servicing
the computer. Make special note of each screw size and location during removal and replacement.

Bottom cover

Description
Bottom cover (includes two rubber feet, one rear rubber foot strip, speaker grilles, vent grille,
and magnets)
Before removing the bottom cover, follow these steps:
1.
Turn off the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn
the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
2.
Disconnect the power from the computer by unplugging the power cord from the computer.
3.
Disconnect all external devices from the computer.
Remove the bottom cover:
1.
Remove the five Torx-4 T4M2.0×7.4 shoulder screws that secure the bottom cover to the computer.
