8. Care and maintenance

8.1 Changing the bat-
tery / rechargeable battery
(Rechargeable battery type: NiMH IEC 6F22)
To avoid the loss of data, it is imperative that you
switch the instrument off when changing the bat-
tery/rechargeable battery and replace the battery
in < 10 min.
1 Open the battery compartment on the rear of the
instrument.
2 Remove the empty monobloc battery / rechargeab-
le battery.
3 Insert the new monobloc battery / rechargeable
battery. Observe +/-.
4 Close the battery compartment.
Instrument will start automatically.
8.2 Charging the battery
Charge batteries properly!
Danger of explosion!
Only start the charging process if a recharge-
able battery is in the instrument and Rech.
has been set as the battery type.
The battery in the instrument can only be rechar-
ged if it is a rechargeable battery and Rech. is set
as the battery type.
1 Make sure a rechargeable battery is in the instru-
ment.
2 Make sure that Rech. is set as the battery type
(see 6.6.3 Bat. type).
3 Connect the connector of the mains unit to the
12 V jack of the instrument.
