UPDATING THE FIRMWARE

The firmware that runs Show Designer 1 can be updated with new versions
available from the Elation Lighting web site at www.elationlighting.com. Look in
the downloads section of the Show Designer 1 page. New firmware will include
new features as well as updates to the fixture library.
To copy the new firmware file from your PC to Show Designer 1, go to the Show
Designer 1 menu "update software". Press "enter" and the display will read,
"Download new program". Show Designer 1 is now ready to receive the file from
your PC. Note: As a shortcut you can hold down the "menu" and "erase" switches
while powering up Show Designer 1.
Using the SD File Transfer program, follow the help instructions for "Send file to SD".
Make sure that the file has been unzipped before trying to send it (the file should
end with .txt not .zip). The Show Designer 1 display will read, "receiving new
program" after you start the transmission. After the file has been sent, Show
Designer 1 will reboot and show its startup display. If any errors have been
detected, Show Designer 1 will prompt you to retry. If you receive an error
message, check your connections and try again. It will take several minutes to
transfer the file.
