6 REAR PANEL OPERATION

The media converter has one power LED and one alarm LED located on the rear. Under normal
operation the unit PWR LED is green and ALM LED is off. The power connection is also
located on the back of the unit. Rear panel indicators and controls are defined in
media converter rear panel is shown in

7 POWER-UP/CHECK OUT PROCEDURE

The following procedure ensures that the set top unit is operating correctly.
1. Power up the system.
2. The PWR LED should turn green after the power-up sequence is complete.
a. Media Converter Set Top unit is powered up as soon as power is applied. The POWER
indicator (GREEN LED) on the unit should light to indicate that power is applied to
the media converter.
b. If the POWER indicator does not come on, verify that the power connections between
the Media Converter Set Top unit and the power supply are secure. Verify that there is
power present at the source. If this procedure does not resolve the problem, replace the
cable or power supply.
3. If signals are present on the fibers, LINK LEDS should be green.
