If ALARM indicator (RED LED) is on, verify that optical connections are secure. Check power
connection and verify that PWR LED is green. Check for proper equipment connections on the
far end. If ALM LED is still red, press the reset button.

Media Converter by
connecting it to the
power source.

NO

Module light?
YES
Does the

front PWR LED on
NO
Media Converter
Module light?
YES
Do the Media
3.
NO
Converter
Link LEDs
light green?
YES
Media Converter is
operating properly,
signal detect is asserted
and link status is OK.

Check power source. Repair
or replace as necessary.
Press the reset button, if the front PWR LED does
not turn green the module may be defective.
Replace the Media Converter Module
with a known good module.
Link LED is yellow.
Check optical path for signal.
Repair as necessary following
local practices.
