Dull finishes and plastics
Plastic parts, such as light bulb lenses, decorative strips, panels,
bumpers, e t c . , will c o m e clean during car washing. Should additi-
onal cleaning or spot removal be necessary, use a soft brush or
cloth s o a k e d with a mild detergent solution. T h e n rinse thoroughly
and immediately with clear water. Do not use anything which could
m a r the plastic or dull finished surface, such as w a x or polish, abra-
s i v e detergents or chemical cleaning solvents.
Metal trim
Bright or black anodized trim will come clean when you wash the
vehicle. To protect the trim, use car wax.
Touch-up paint
Your dealer has touch-up paint for minor scratches and stone
chips. Scratches should be touched up soon after they occur, to
prevent corrosion. If corrosion formation becomes visible, howev-
e r , a simple touch-up job will no suffice. T h e affected surface m u s t
b e s m o o t h e d with sand p a p e r and covered with a n anti-rust primer,
before restoring the painted finish.
Tal or oil
Do not allow tar or oil to remain on the paint. Remove as soon as
possible with a cloth soaked with a special paint cleaner. If you do
not h a v e a tar or oil remover, you m a y substitute with turpentine. Af-
ter applying a cleaning fluid, always wash with a lukewarm soap
water solution and apply a new wax coat.

Insects
R e m o v e as soon as possible with a l u k e w a r m s o a p / w a t e r solution
or apply insect remover.
Tree sap
Remove with a lukewarm soap / water solution. Do not allow tree
sap or bird droppings to harden on the paint.
Windows
K e p p silicone sprays off the windshield to avoid wiper smear in
rain.
Generally, highway dust that settles on the outside of the wind-
shield contains m a t e r i a l worn from tires and oil residues. On the i n -
side surfaces of the windshields, particularly in strong sunlight,
there are build-ups of dust from the interior decor. These buildups
are reinforced by pollution in the air brought in with the fresh air
supply. Use a luke-warm soap / water solution or an alcohol base
commercial window cleaning a g e n t for the inside and outside. If a
chamois is used for polishing the glass, it should exclusively be
used for that purpose.
To a s s u r e that windshield w a s h e r s a l s o function at freezing tempe-
ratures, antifreeze must be added to the washer fluids reservoirs
beforehand. It is advisable to u s e window washer solvent with anti-
freeze all year round. Follow directions on the can for the right
amounts t o b e used. Do not u s e engine coolant anti-freeze or any
other solution that can damage the paint
