The Recovery Program offers you the possibility of going back to the beginning
with your system. Reinstall the valuable software with the original hardware
settings, as if your system had just left the factory.
Using the Recovery Program would only be necessary in the
unlikely event of file deletion or file corruption. Before using
the Recovery Program we recommend that you use Smart Re-
store (see next chapter) to reinstall the faulty software or hard-
ware without deleting any files.
The Recovery Program is a very powerful tool. Some options
permanently delete all the data on your hard disk drive. Please
read the following section carefully before using the Recovery
Program!
Before You Start the Recovery Program
1. Backup your personal files.
2. Return your system to its original configuration:
Please read the chapter "Selecting your Recovery Process" earlier in
this manual.
Remove any additional hardware components that you may have added
to your notebook.
Re-install the original hardware components if you have removed
them.
Disconnect any additional devices that may be connected to your note-
book (e.g. scanner, printer...).

To start the Recovery Program, please do the following:
If you are restoring from the backup partition present on your hard drive:
1. Insert the Boot CD shipped with your machine in its drive.
2. Turn the system OFF.
3. Turn the system back ON.
If you are restoring from the Master CD you created
1. Insert the Master CD 1 into its drive.
2. Turn the system OFF.
3. Turn the system back ON.
