7.4.1 Valve protrusion – Measurement
Preconditions
☑ Engine is stopped and starting disabled.
Special tools, Material, Spare parts
Designation / Use
Sliding depth gage, 200 mm
Preparatory steps
1. Remove igniters (→ Page 167).
2. Remove cylinder head covers (→ Page 182).
3. Remove sleeves (arrowed).
4. Install barring tool (→ Page 162).
5. Rotate crankshaft with barring tool in engine
direction of rotation until marking "OT" and
pointer are aligned.
