WARNING
Never operate your trimmer if it is damaged, improperly
adjusted or maintained, not completely and securely
assembled or not functioning properly, @ 5.5. To reduce
the risk of personal injury, always wear proper clothing and
protective apparel, including proper eye protection, when
operating your trimmer, @ 5.4. To reduce the risk of serious
or fatal injury from loss of control, always hold the trimmer
with both hands when you are working, @ 5.6.2.
When switching the trimmer on:
► Make sure you have a secure and firm footing.
► Stand upright.
► Always hold and operate the trimmer with one hand firmly
on the rear or control handle and the other hand firmly on
the front or loop handle.
To switch the trimmer on:
► Unlock the retaining latch (1) by pushing it forward with
your thumb. Hold it in this unlocked position.
► Depress and hold the trigger switch lockout (2).
The retaining latch can be released and will stay in the
unlocked position.
► Squeeze the trigger switch (3) with your index finger.
The cutting attachment will start moving.
The motor will not switch on unless the retaining latch is
unlocked and the trigger switch lockout and trigger switch
are pressed at the same time.

15.2 Switching Off

The cutting attachment continues to move for a short while
after the trigger switch is released. To avoid serious or fatal
injury, avoid contact with the moving cutting attachment. To
reduce the risk of personal injury from unintended activation
or unauthorized use, switch off the motor, ensure the cutting
attachment has stopped and remove the battery before
transporting or putting the trimmer down.
To switch the trimmer off:
► Release the trigger switch and trigger switch lockout.
Once the trigger switch and trigger switch lockout have
been released, the retaining latch will return to its locked
position and activation of the trigger switch will be
blocked.
The cutting attachment will continue to move for a short time
after the trigger switch is released.

16.1 Testing the Controls

Before starting work, confirm that the retaining latch (1),

trigger switch lockout (2) and trigger switch (3) are
undamaged and functioning properly:
