Setting the Phone Number (Unit Telephone #)

You must set the fax number for the machine. This number can also be printed on sent fax docu-
ment. (See "Setting Whether to Print Information on Received Documents," in the Reference Guide.)

Call up the desired screen as follows:

key → [Communications Settings] → [Fax Settings] → [

Enter the phone number and press the [OK]
key.
• [Space]:
Press to leave a space between
the exchange and phone
number.
• [+]:
Used to place a country code
before a telephone number.
Example: +1 xxx xxx xxx
• [ ] and [ ]: Press to move the cursor
position.
• [Backspace]: Press to correct errors, by
moving the cursor back to delete
one space at a time.
NOTE
• You can enter up to 20 digits for a phone number.
• Press the
Clear

Press the [Done] key.
Repeat until the Additional Functions screen closes.

Setting the Line Type (Tel. Line Type)

You must correctly set the type of telephone line for successful fax communication.
NOTE
• If you do not know the line type for your telephone system, contact your telephone company.
• The factory setting is
