Communications Settings

This section describes settings necessary for sending and receiving faxes.

Setting ECM Sending (ECM TX)

You can send faxes in ECM mode. ECM is a function that automatically corrects errors in image
transmission.
NOTE
• The factory setting is On.
• ECM is an acronym for Error Correction Mode.
• ECM transmission requires that both the sending and receiving devices be set for ECM. (If this setting is
not made at both ends, this function is not valid.)
• Even when the ECM function is set, errors can be caused by telephone line problems.
• When telephone line problems are present, transmissions may require more time.
