5. Remove the cap screw and lock nut securing the rear
arm to the idler arm. Account for the aluminum axle
and bushing assemblies.
CLEANING AND INSPECTING
 NOTE: Whenever a part is worn excessively,
cracked, or damaged in any way, replacement is nec-
essary.
1. Closely inspect the rear arm/idler arm tubing and
brackets for cracks or unusual bends.
2. Clean the bearings with a clean cloth.
3. Inspect each idler wheel for cracks or damage.
4. Inspect the bushings (located in the arm pivot area)
for wear or damage.
5. Inspect all welds and the tubing of the upper arm for
cracks or unusual bends.
6. Inspect the two adjusting cams for damage.
7. If an idler wheel bearing must be replaced, see Idler
Wheels/Mounting Blocks - Cleaning and Inspecting
in this sub-section.
ASSEMBLING
1. Install the rear arm onto the idler arm with an alumi-
num axle, bushing assemblies, and two cap screws
(coated with blue Loctite #243). Tighten only until
snug.

2. Place the rear arm assembly into position. Secure
with a cap screw, washer, and lock nut. Tighten to 40
ft-lb.

3. Place a support beneath the rear arm; then tighten the
cap screws (from step 1) to 40 ft-lb.
