Step 7.
If you removed any I/O expansion adapters from the compute node, install them (see the compute
node Installation and Service Guide for instructions).
Step 8.
Install the compute node cover (see the compute node Installation and Service Guide for
instructions).
After you install the expansion shelf, install the storage expansion node assembly into the chassis. See
"Installing the storage expansion node in an Flex System Enterprise Chassis" on page 14 for instructions.
Removing the control panel assembly
Use these instructions to remove the control panel assembly from the storage expansion node.
Before you remove the control panel assembly, complete the following steps:
1. Read "Safety" on page iii and "Installation guidelines" on page 25.
2. If the storage expansion node assembly is installed in an Flex System Enterprise Chassis, remove it
(see "Removing the storage expansion node assembly from the Flex System Enterprise Chassis" on
page 17 for instructions).
3. Carefully lay the storage expansion node assembly on a flat, static-protective surface.
Attention: Make sure that the drive drawer is supported when it is open. The weight of installed drives
can cause the storage expansion node assembly to be unstable when the drive drawer is open.
4. Open the drive drawer approximately 20 cm (8 in.).
To remove the control panel assembly, complete the following steps.
Step 1.
Disconnect the control panel assembly cable from the connector on the drive drawer.
