6. To reinstall the transformer stand, insert the two tabs
holes in the chassis. Then, push the release button toward the top of the computer and lower down
the transformer stand at the same time. Release the release button to secure the transformer stand
on the computer.

Removing the computer cover

Attention: Do not open your computer or attempt any repair before reading and understanding the Chapter
2 "Safety information" on page 3.
CAUTION:
Before you open the computer cover, turn off the computer and wait several minutes until the
computer is cool.
This section provides instructions on how to remove the computer cover.
To remove the computer cover, do the following:
1. Remove all media from the drives and turn off all attached devices and the computer. Then, disconnect
all power cords from electrical outlets and disconnect all cables that are connected to the computer.
2. Place a soft, clean towel or cloth on the desk or other flat surface. Hold the sides of your computer and
gently lay it down so that the screen is against the surface and the cover is facing up.
3. Remove any locking device that secures the computer cover.
4. Remove the computer stand. See "Removing and reinstalling the frame stand" on page 75, "Removing
and reinstalling the monitor stand" on page 76, or "Removing and reinstalling the transformer stand"
on page 77.
