Maintenance

Regularly check the technical safety of the CD tuner, e.g. for damage of the cables or
the housing.
If there is any reason to believe that safe operation has become impossible, put the unit
out of operation and secure it against any unintended operation. Disconnect the on-
board electric networks!
Safe operation must be presumed to be no longer possible, if:
• the CD tuner exhibits visible damage
• the device does not operate any longer or
• after severe mechanical strains.
Before cleaning the CD tuner or performing maintenance, the following safety
instruction must be observed:
When opening covers or removing parts you may expose live parts.
Therefore, disconnect the device from all voltage sources before
performing maintenance work or repairs.
Capacitors inside the device may still carry voltage even though
they have been disconnected from all voltage sources.
Repairs may only be carried out by qualified personnel who are
familiar with the hazards involved and the relevant regulations.
If it becomes necessary to replace a fuse, make sure that only fuses of the prescribed
type and nominal current are used (see "Technical Data").
Do not repair fuses or bridge the fuse holders.
• When the power supply has been disconnected (disconnect ISO plug!) carefully
remove the fuse from the fuse holder next to the ISO plug.
• Replace the fuse by one of the same type.
• Only then can you re-connect the CD tuner to the electric on-board system.
• Should the fuse trigger again, have the CD tuner repaired in a specialised workshop.
