Assembling the String Trimmer
Always separate the string trimmer attachment from the motor unit
before undertaking any assembly or maintenance!
The spool housing is attached to the drive shaft with left hand threads. Use
one of the included hex keys to arrest the driveshaft. Insert the key from the
side through the hole in the protective sleeve of the shaft.

Working with the String Trimmer

Wear solid shoes and eye protection, the string may throw loose objects

into the air quite violently.
Use the string trimmer only with attached safety hood. Mounting the safety

hood is described below.
Only cut at high engine speeds.

Use the unit only for its intended use, i.e. for cutting grass and weeds.

Never lift the cutting head higher than your knee during operation.

On slopes always work with the cutting head facing uphill.

For the best results, swing the unit from side to side while walking forward.

Tilt the string trimmer by about 30°. It is advisable to cut higher grass in
several passes. Keep the string away from hard surfaces, these may
cause rapid wear.
Avoid touching the trunks or roots of trees. Damage to the bark may harm

or kill the tree.
