Front Panel Buttons and LEDs

This section describes the different buttons and LEDs on the front panel of a
Services Module:
Module Shutdown button: This button is used to shut down the module.
A message is written to the switch log to indicate the module has shut
down. Note the module can also be shut down by using a CLI command.
USB Port: This port is used to attach a USB device, such as a flash drive.
The following table describes the LEDs on the front panel.
Table C-1.

Module LED
Module Status
Solid green
solid orange
During bootup, this LED follows the following sequence:
1. Off for ~30s during BIOS boot and self test
2. Green for ~2s
3. Orange for an indeterminate time, though typically ~5s.
During this time the Services Module is acquiring its
configuration from the management module. The time
required to transition through this phase can vary slightly
due to varying loads on the management module
4. Green for ~ 1s
5. Off – The module is booting the OS. Once this is done, the
module enters normal operation.
The LED flashes green while the OS is initializing.
Service OS or product software is ready.
