8b. If you are fitting a second ATA device, attach the spare
connector on the CD-ROM ribbon (signal) cable to the new
drive.
HINT
If your computer does not already have a CD-ROM drive, a suitable
ribbon cable should have been supplied with the new drive. Connect
this cable between the rear of the drive and the secondary E-IDE
connector on the motherboard.
9. Attach any other signal cables as instructed in the
documentation supplied with the removable-media drive.
10. Check to ensure that no other cables or connections have
become dislodged or trapped during the work, then refit the
system unit panels.
Finally, follow any further instructions supplied with the drive (for
example, for installing software relating to the drive).
