Integrated Webserver for Simple Applications

Keeping the engineering process as simple as possible was a top priority. SICAM MIC pro-
vides a web server for configuration, diagnosis and testing, so that no special tools or addi-
tional licenses are needed.
The tool is already integrated in SICAM MIC and is operated with a standard web browser
(Microsoft ® Internet Explorer of a standard PC).
The complete engineering data is stored non-volatilely on the SIM card equipped in the mas-
ter control element.
With the tool webmic the engineering can be accomplished also independently of the target
system (offline). As grafical user interface serves also the Microsoft ® Internet Explorer, that
stores the user data in a parameter file on the PC. After completion, the parameters can be
written on a SIM card. When commissioning, the master control element must be merely
equipped with the already parameterized SIM card. For occasional changes or tests on site
only the PC with web browser is required.
Simple application programs can be created with each text editor as instruction list (IL), based
on the standard IEC 61131-3. Via the web browser, the instruction list can be uploaded into
the automation unit for execution.
2.5.2

TOOLBOX II

Of course SICAM MIC supports also the TOOLBOX II, the integrated engineering system for
the entire SICAM RTUs family. This comprises all stages of plant configuration and mainte-
nance, this means data collection, configuring, parameter setting, expanding, changing, test-
ing, system diagnosis, and documentation.
The introduction of object orientation allows project engineers to describe real units and piec-
es of equipment in the configuration process (circuit breakers, feeders, etc.).
They can take advantage of these structural advantages especially in cases where systems
are constituted of a plurality of primary units and pieces of equipment of equal type (for exam-
ple a transformer substation). This yields enormous streamlining effects for the engineering
process.
When configuring via the TOOLBOX II, application programs (open-/closed-loop control function)
can be created as function diagram (FUD) with the tool CAEx plus. Optionally, also an existing
instruction list can be imported into the TOOLBOX II.
In view of its conformity with IEC 61131-3, CAEx plus grants the user access to a well-
established and generally acknowledged standard. This helps shorten staff training times con-
siderably.
By means of the available standard-conformal module libraries and standard-conformal data
types, the engineering becomes more transparent and is possible with high application quality.
