Handling the 4.7GB SCSI-2 DVD-RAM Drive
Attention: Static electricity can damage your equipment. Leave the 4.7GB SCSI-2
DVD-RAM Drive in its bag until you are ready to install it in your system unit.
Electrostatic Discharge Protection
Take the following precautions whenever you handle the 4.7GB SCSI-2 DVD-RAM
Drive or other static-sensitive devices:
v Use an anti-static wrist strap if you have one.
v Limit your movement. Movement can cause static electricity to build up around you.
v Hold the drive carefully by its frame or edges. Avoid touching solder joints, pins, or
other printed circuitry.
v Do not place the drive on the system unit cover or on a metal table. If you must set it
aside, put it back into its bag.
v Be very careful when you handle the drive during cold weather, as low humidity and
heating increase static electricity.
