immerse them in water for about 30 minutes.
The machines (Opale and Opale H2O) have only
one fi lter.
• (Fig.5) - After removing the hoses and the fi lters, remove
the tank from the machine.
• (Fig.6) - Fill the water tank with fresh drinking water.
• Insert the full tank into the machine.
• (Fig.7) - When they are ready, insert the fi lters into the
hoses (one fi lter for each hose); then place the hoses in the
tank.
• (Fig.1b) - Place the lid on the tank.
• (Fig.8) - Make sure that the hoses are NOT crushed and the
water does not come out of the tank.
• (Fig.1a) - Place the outer lid on the machine.
Before proceeding to the electrical connection
and operation of the machine, make sure that
all buttons are in OFF position. For H2O, Vapor and Capp
models also make sure that the elements for water,
steam and cappuccino dispensing are completely insert-
ed (see also sections 8.1 and 8.2 for proper mounting).
4.2.

Electrical Connection

Warning: Electric power may be very dangerous!
It is therefore necessary to strictly follow the
safety regulations. Do not use faulty power cords.
The operating voltage of the appliance has been pre-set by the
manufacturer. Make sure that the mains voltage corresponds to
the specifi cations on the technical data plate.
Before connecting the machine to the electrical network, make
sure that all buttons are not pressed, therefore being in the OFF
position.
• (Fig.9) - Insert the plug into the chassis plug of the ma-
chine.
• Insert the other plug of the power cord into a suitable wall
socket.
Before switching on and using the machine,
check that the drip tray is fully inserted into its
seat. Warning! An incorrect placement of the tray may
cause spilling of the discharge water on the set.

5. USE OF THE MACHINE

5.1.A Switching on the Machine
(Opale - Opale Vapor - Opale Cap)
To switch on and operate the machine proceed as follows:
• (Fig.10) - Press the ON/OFF button and turn it to the "I" po-
sition; the (ON/OFF and machine ready) indicator lights are
on; in this phase the machine is warming up.
(Only Opale Vapor and Cap) - The steam indicator light is
also on.
• (Fig.12) - Turn the lever to the right until the pod holder is
closed.
• (Fig.13) - Immediately press the brew button in (I) position;
this procedure will prime the water circuit.
• (Fig.13) - After 30 seconds press the brew button again in
(0) position to complete the circuit priming.
• (Fig.14) - Turn the closing lever of the pod holder to the
left.
• Wait until the "machine ready" indicator light turns off . The
machine is now ready.
At the fi rst use of the machine or in case of a long
period of inactivity, in order to facilitate the wa-
ter circuit priming, it is recommended to simulate short
(in steps) coff ee brewings without the pod; with the le-
ver on the left, therefore with the unit open.
5.1.B Switching on the Machine
(Only Opale H2O)
To switch on and operate the machine proceed as follows:
• (Fig.10) - Press the ON/OFF button and turn it to the "I" po-
sition; the (ON/OFF and machine ready) indicator lights are
on; in this phase the machine is warming up.
• (Fig.20) - Place a cup/jug under the hot water wand.
• (Fig.24) - Press and hold the hot water button to start dis-
pensing hot water.
• After 30 seconds release the hot water button to stop dis-
pensing.
• Wait until the "machine ready" indicator light turns off . The
machine is now ready.
