6. Install the new coin-cell battery
7. Reinstall the base cover assembly and the removable battery.
8. Turn the computer over again. Connect the ac power adapter and all cables to the computer.
9. Turn on the computer and enter the ThinkPad Setup program. Then reset the date and time.

Replacing the dc-in cable assembly

Before you start, print these instructions. Read the important safety information first. See "Important
safety information" on page vi.
To replace the dc-in cable assembly, do the following:
1. Disable the built-in battery. See "Disabling the built-in battery" on page 121.
2. Close the computer display and turn the computer over.
3. Remove the battery pack. See "Replacing the removable battery" on page 122.
4. Remove the base cover assembly. See "Replacing the base cover assembly" on page 130.
5. Remove the screws and then remove the bracket.
