Display backlight

The brightness of the display can be adjusted for when the radio is in use. If you
use the unit in the bedroom, you may prefer a lower brightness level than the
standard setting. There a range of brightness levels from which to choose and
there is also a timer which can be set to dim the backlight after a preset time.
To change the current brightness setting, follow the steps below.
1. Press and release the On/Off button to switch on your radio.
2. Press and hold the Info / Menu button. The DAB menu will show on the
display.
3. Press the Tuning Up or Down buttons until 'SYSTEM' appears on the display.
Press and release the Select button.
4. Press the Tuning Up or Down buttons until 'BACKLITE' appears on the
display. Press and release the Select button.
5. In the backlight menu you may adjust the following settings using the Tuning
Up or Down and Select buttons.
Time out: The backlight display can be set to remain bright or to dim after a
set time between 10 and 180 seconds.
On level: To adjust the brightness while the controls are being used, the On
level can be set to high, medium or low.
Dim level: To adjust the brightness after a preset time has elapsed, the Dim
level can be set to high, medium or low.
When the Dim backlight setting is in use pressing any button will switch the
radio to the 'On level' brightness for a few seconds. This is so that even if the
'Dim level' is set low, it is still possible to see the time when needed.
