EMISSION CONTROL SYSTEM (USA ONLY)

The combustion proces produces carbon monoxide and hydrocarbons. Control of
hydrocarbons is very importart because, u.de! certain conditions, they react to form
photochemical smog when subjected to sunlight. Carbon monoxide does not react in
the same way. but it is toxic.
Honda Motor Co., Ltd. utilizes lean carburetor settjngs and oth€r systems to reduce
carbon monoxide ald hydrocdbons.
Exhrust Embsion Control System
The €xhaust emission control system is compded of lear carburetoi settings, and no
adjustments should be made except idle speed adjustment with the throttle stop screw.
The exhaust emission contiol system is separate from the cimkcase enislion control
