Heat sink and fan

NOTE:
The heat sink spare part kit includes replacement thermal material.
Description
Fan
Processor heat sink
For use with discrete graphics subsystems
For use with Unified Memory Architecture (UMA) graphics subsystems
Before removing the heat sink, follow these steps:
1.
Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn
the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
2.
Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer.
3.
Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet
and then unplugging the AC adapter from the computer.

Remove the battery (see

Remove the following components:
a.
Switch cover (see

Keyboard (see
c.
Palm rest (see
Remove the heat sink:
1.
Position the computer right-side up with the front toward you.
2.
Remove the six Phillips PM2.5×3.0 screws (1) that secure the heat shield to the top cover.
3.
Remove the Phillips PM2.5×5.0 screw (2) that secures the heat shield to the top cover.
