7.3. Using the text recognition software

With the supplied programs ABBYY FineReader 9.0 Sprint and ABBYY Screenshot Reader you have
various capabilities of converting your scanned text documents into text files. For this purpose the
documents must be present as JPEG file.
Before using both programs you must complete a free registration via ABBYY FineReader 9.0 Sprint.
Therefore follow the instructions when first starting the program.
7.3.1. ABBYY FineReader 9.0
Once you open the ABBYY FineReader 9.0
Sprint program, choose which document
you would like to edit. Therefore click "Get
Image from Folder" and choose if the text
shall be converted in a PDF document or
any other file type. Then choose the file
type in which the text is present. The con-
version will then start automatically.
After the text recognition has ended you
can choose a filename such as a file type in
which the document shall be saved.
If errors occur during the text recognition the program will allow you to choose and perform various
options from the section on the right side to improve the quality of your converted text. Click "Con-
vert" to finalize your selection and restart the text recognition.
