the active unit, where both 1/3/1 and 1/4/1 (or 1/2/1 1/2/3 for 4x10G stack) become stack ports as a
result of 'stack enable'.
9. Stack port can be converted to a data port using 'stack-port stack/slot/port' command. If only one port
is entered, the other port will be converted to a data port.
10. B oot up time for a 12 unit stack is approximately less than 3 minutes. For the stack to boot up, assign
a standby and get protocols ready so it can be ready for failover, it takes about less than 6 minutes.
11. I n case of any image mismatch on member units, active unit will trigger Autocopy. Autocopy is
supported only between minor and patch releases and not between major releases.
12. W hen an uplink port is being converted to stacking port, the uplink configuration should be removed
before it can be configured as a stack port.
13. 1 0G and 40G stack links cannot be mixed within a single stack. All stack connections must be the
same speed.

Chapter 2: ICX7750 Stack

Technical Architecture

The Sidewinder is expected to meet various customer deployment needs so there will be three SKU for
this hardware. These three SKU have similar hardware design with difference in the external interfaces.
The SKU types are as follows:
• ICX7750-48F
• ICX7750-48C
• ICX7750-32Q
ICX7750-48F
This hardware unit has 48 of 10G SFP+ ports on the front. There are also 6 of 40G QSFP+ ports on the
front. There are 6 of 40G QSFP+ ports on the rear panel. which is on the plugable module. The SFP+
ports can work in 10G mode and 1G mode.

This hardware unit has 48 of 10G-BASE-T Copper ports on the front panel. These ports can work in
10G mode and use 10G-BASE-T auto negotiation with link partner. This can also work in 1G mode
