SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS FOR PROTECT NAS

This chapter contains important instructions for the Protect NAS UPS that
must be followed when installing, operating, and performing maintenance
on the uninterruptible power supply and the battery system (internal).
The UPS is energized, which may be dangerous. Only trained specialist
personnel may open the device. Only qualified customer service employ-
ees may carry out repairs on the device.
The output may be energized even if the UPS is not connected to the mains
supply as the UPS has its own internal power supply (battery).
For reasons of health and safety, the device must be properly grounded.
The Protect NAS must only be operated using or connected to
220 V / 230 V / 240 V AC voltage supplies with protective grounding, and
using a mains connection cable that has been tested according to VDE
guidelines and has a protective ground conductor (included in the scope
of delivery).
Risk of burns!
The battery has powerful short-circuit currents. Incorrect connection or
isolation can lead to melting of the plug connections, sparking, and severe
burns.
The device features a warning signal that sounds when the battery voltage
of the Protect NAS is exhausted or if the UPS is not operating in its normal
state (see also Chapter 9.1, Alarm/Fault Messages, page 73).
