Voice contact

(talking to the caller during or after fax reception or
transmission)
You can have a conversation with the same call after the fax message is completed. This will save the extra
expense and time of making another call.
This feature works only when the other party's unit is equipped with a voice contact feature.
Initiating voice contact
Press (DIGITAL\SP-PHONE) while transmitting or

receiving documents.
Display:
¡Your unit will call the other party with a distinctive
ring.

When the other party answers, your unit will emit a
distinctive ring.
Press (DIGITAL\SP-PHONE) or lift the handset to
start talking.
¡If you initiate voice contact during transmission,
you can talk after all of the documents have been
transmitted.
¡If you initiate voice contact during reception, you
can talk after the current page of the document is
received.
Receiving a request for voice contact
If the other party initiates voice contact, your unit will emit a distinctive ring after transmission or reception is
completed.
When the distinctive ring is heard, press (DIGITAL\SP-PHONE) or lift the handset, then start talking.
Note:
¡If you do not answer within 10 seconds of the distinctive ring;
—if in the ANS/FAX mode, your unit will play back a greeting message and record an incoming voice
message.
¡—if in the TEL/FAX, FAX (FAX ONLY) or TEL mode, the line will be disconnected.
