2.6 Setting the heating on the
Econo model
The setting of the Econo model's water-heated air
heater for reheating is performed with a thermo-
stat that is placed inside the ventilation unit. The
thermostat setting positions correspond to the
following temperatures:
Together with the W5 ventilation unit, you
can use a separate waterborne air heater
which is installed in a duct. The air heater
is commissioned and set using a Smart
control panel. Commissioning and setting are
described in the installation, operation and
maintenance instructions for the air heater.
The duct mounted air heater is optional
equipment: SDHW16033W.

2.7 Manual bypass damper

The W3/W4 ventilation unit is also available
with a manual summer bypass damper for
the heat exchanger. The bypass of air past
the heat exchanger is a built-in function in
the ventilation unit. This function is used to
prevent heat recovery when it is hot during
the summer.
Open the bypass damper in the extract cham-
ber to activate the bypass. Pull the locking pin
ring and turn the damper lever to its lower
position to do this. If the damper is open, the
Swegon reserves the right to alter specifications.
electric air heater for reheating is disabled.
When the next heating season begins, you
simply close the bypass damper, so that the
locking pin aligns with the appropriate hole.

Freeze protection function
Ice can form in the heat exchan-
ger during periods of cold weat-
her if the extract air is humid. A
protective function then automa-
tically reduces the speed of the
supply air fan. Under such condi-
tions, variations in the fan speed
are therefore normal.
It is normal for small amounts
of ice to form inside the heat
exchanger under such conditions.
