2.6 Setting the heating on the
Econo model
The setting of the Econo model's water-heat-
ed air heater for reheating is performed with a
thermostat that is placed inside the ventilation
unit. The thermostat setting positions
correspond to the following temperatures:
Together with the W5 ventilation unit, you
can use a separate water heated air heater
which is installed in a duct. The air heater is
commissioned and set using a Smart control
panel. Commissioning and setting are
described in the installation, operation and
maintenance instructions for the air heater.
The duct mounted air heater is optional
equipment: SDHW160.

2.7 Manual bypass damper

The W3/W4 ventilation unit is also available
with a manual summer bypass damper for the
heat exchanger. The bypass of air past the heat
EN
exchanger is a built-in function in the ventila-
tion unit. This function is used to prevent heat
recovery when it is hot during the summer.
Open the bypass damper in the extract cham-
ber to activate the bypass. Pull the locking pin
ring and turn the damper lever to its lower
position to do this. If the damper is open, the
electric air heater for reheating is disabled.

When the next heating season begins, you
simply close the bypass damper, so that the
locking pin aligns with the appropriate hole.

Freeze protection function
Ice can form in the heat ex-
changer during periods of cold
weather if the extract air is hu-
mid. A protective function then
automatically reduces the speed
of the supply air fan. Under such
conditions, variations in the fan
speed are therefore normal.
Under such conditions, small
amounts of ice can form inside
the ventilation unit.
