Gasoline Additives

Fuel de-icer can be used for all models.
Arctic Cat Fuel Stabilizer (p/n 0436-907)
should also be added to the last tank of
gasoline before storage.
Fuel Pickup Valves
If ever there is a restricted fuel flow and a
pickup valve is suspected, take the snow-
mobile to an authorized Arctic Cat Snow-
mobile dealer for this service. If not under
warranty, this service is at the discretion
and expense of the snowmobile owner.
Checking Engine Oil
(6000)
The 6000 does not have a sight glass on the
side of the oil tank for checking the oil level.
The oil level may be checked by visually
looking down into the tank or add oil when
the oil light turns on display on the gauge.
The oil tank (when filled to the bottom of
the filler neck) will have 3.6 quarts of oil.
The oil light will turn on when the oil tank
capacity is down to 1.5 quarts. If the oil
level reaches 0.75 quarts, air can be intro-
duced to oil pump cavity during vehicle
operation causing the risk of engine seizure.

Adding Engine Oil

(6000)
1. Park the snowmobile on a level sur-
face; then remove the right-side
access panel.
2. Remove the fastener securing the right
side of the lower console to the skid
plate.
3. Remove the oil tank cap and add the
appropriate oil through the filler
neck making sure to fill only to the
bottom of the filler neck.
CAUTION
Care must be taken not to over-fill the
oil tank.
Checking Engine Oil
Level (7000)
NOTE: The engine must be at
operating temperature before check-
ing the oil level or an incorrect oil
level will result.
CAUTION
If the engine and oil are not at operat-
ing temperature, the oil will not be
visible in the sight glass. Tip the
snowmobile to the right at a 45°
angle; then check to see if oil is pres-
ent in the sight glass.
1. Park the snowmobile on a level sur-
face; then start the engine and let it
idle and warm up until the fan on the
radiator turns on, or if the snowmobile
was operated, allow the engine to idle
for approximately 30 seconds.
2. Shut the engine off; then remove the
right-side access panel and verify oil
is visible at least halfway up in the
sight glass.
