[6] Overview of original options
Simply indicate what your originals look like by selecting the corresponding
icon. By doing so, you ensure that the information in the digital document is
read from top to bottom. And this, in turn, allows you to determine later on how
to print the digital document (or process it in another way).

Scanning a set of identical originals
Select the Scan mode.

The list of available scan profiles is shown.
If not yet selected, select the required profile using the arrow buttons.

Place the originals (max. 50 sheets of 8.5x11" or 35 of 11x17" paper) in the

automatic document feeder and adjust the original guides.
The page size for the digital document is automatically selected.
The originals must all be the same size and must be flattened. See
Note:
appendix A for an overview of originals that can be used.
Open the 'Original' section.

Indicate whether the originals are 1 or 2-sided.

Select the icon representing the orientation of information and the binding of

your original pages ('Book binding' or 'Calendar binding').
Select other settings as required, e.g. reduction or enlargement.
