Operation

Engine

Check the engine and engine mounting.
Look for loose or damaged fasteners.
Check the propeller for damage.
Check for engine oil leaks.

Flushing device

Check that the flushing device's garden hose connector is
securely screwed on to the fitting on the bottom cowling.
NOTICE: If the garden hose connector is not properly
connected, cooling water can leak out and the engine
can overheat during operation.

Installing top cowling

1.
Check the rubber seal for damage. If the rubber seal is
damaged, have it replaced by a Yamaha dealer.

Check that the rubber seal is seated all the way around
the bottom cowling.
3.
Check that all of the cowling lock levers are pulled out-
ward.
4.
Align the 3 protrusions on the top cowling with the cor-

responding holders on the bottom cowling, and then
place the top cowling on the bottom cowling.

Push the cowling lock levers inward to secure the top
cowling.
