ELECTRICAL STARTING SYSTEM (VX700DX/VT700)
5. Measure:

Brush length a
Out of specification → Replace the starter
motor.
Brush wear limit a:
SCH8120
6. Measure:
•
Brush spring pressure
Fatigue/out of specification → Replace as a
set.
Brush spring pressure:
Assembly
Reverse the "Disassembly" procedure.
Note the following points.
1. Before installing the front bracket and rear bracket,
apply bearing grease to the bearings of the front
bracket and rear bracket.
2. Make sure the front bracket and rear bracket
cover are fitted with O-rings.

3. When installing the rear bracket assembly, take
care not to scratch the brushes.
4. Install:
•
Securing bolts (starter motor)
NOTE:
Align the match marks 1 on the bracket with the
match marks 2 on the yoke.
